Smile Hotel Asagaya is a pleasant hotel located in a cute neighborhood with lots of stores and cafes in the vicinity. It is very close to the JR station too. The hotel is clean and quiet, provides all amenities including skin and hair care products and bathrobes, and the room itself is clean and comfortable. The double twin room is fine for two people—it is small, which was fine, I only stayed overnight on my last day in Tokyo. If you’d prefer, I believe larger rooms are available too. The staff is very friendly and helpful too.

The hotel is situated 1 min away from the station. The location is good. Asagaya is a residential area so it's really quite and there are some restaurants around to relax if u want to avoid the crowd from Shinjuku. The staff is really nice and very helpful. The hotel is very clean, rooms are small but big enough for one person. U have a small bathtub in every bathroom with Japanese toilets. Beds are comfortable. You also have a desk, a chair, a TV and a small closet.

Perfect sized room if all you need it for is sleeping. Location to the station was excellent, not even a one minute walk. Plenty of food options and bars in the area. Could not hear the trains going with the window closed even though it was literally right next to the station. I did have a window facing the alleyway so not sure if sound proofing still applies for windows facing the station.

The friendly front desk staff (woman and younger man) were very helpful and patient with my questions. For genuine local cuisine, they recommended the nearby Tokyo Kokekokko Honpo Asagaya Shop which prepared excellent fresh sashimi right in front of me. I also loved exploring the colorful shops (including a cat bar) and winding streets at both night and day.

The staff were friendly and always there to help. The room was quiet and had everything I needed, plenty of plugs, good air conditioning, it was clean and the bathroom was perfect. The location was a nice little area in Asagaya right off the station, which made travelling each day very easy.
